Order of European Inventors and Innovators
The manifesto of the Order — the founding text of our community.
Europe has a long memory of merit. From the medieval guilds to the academies of science, from the civil orders of merit to the great international prizes, European civilisation has understood a simple truth: what you honour publicly multiplies. Societies that celebrate their creators receive more creation; those that forget them export their talent and import their future.
The unseen people behind things
We live surrounded by inventions. The house we live in, the road we take to work, the phone in our pocket, the medicine in the drawer — each of them exists because, at some point, someone refused to accept that things had to stay as they were. And yet the authors of these solutions are, most of the time, invisible. Their products are everywhere; their names, almost nowhere.
This invisibility is not merely an injustice towards a few people. It is a waste for society as a whole. A young person cannot dream of becoming what they see honoured nowhere. An applied invention is an embryo of progress — but embryos need an environment that will receive them: recognition, education, partners, trust.
Recognition as an institution, not as an accident
This is where the idea of an order comes in. An order of merit is not an occasional prize, dependent on a sponsor or a fashion. It is an institution of recognition: clear criteria, assessment by peers — inventors and scientists who understand from the inside what the road from idea to patent and from patent to market means — and a community that receives you and supports you once it has recognised you.
The Order of European Inventors and Innovators was born of this conviction: that the merit of those who invent Europe’s future must be honoured institutionally, durably and publicly.
What we set out to do
Recognition. We award distinctions and diplomas of merit to inventors and innovators whose solutions change the life of communities — on the basis of expert assessment, not of fame.
Education. We cultivate the culture of inventiveness: courses, conferences and resources on creative thinking, from school to doctoral level. Creativity is taught, not merely inherited.
Community. We build a network of merit, in which inventors, researchers, educators and entrepreneurs open doors for one another — so that valuable ideas find partners, not just applause.
Europe. We raise bridges: between generations, between the home country and the diaspora, between an idea and the market. Technical creation has no borders, and neither should its recognition.
What we are not
We are not a closed club and we do not sell honours. The distinctions of the Order are not awarded on commercial or political grounds, but on merit assessed by specialists. We do not compete with the existing organisations of inventors — we respect them and seek their partnership, because the recognition of merit is a shared cause.
